Why EarnSure exists

Your hours are worth keeping your own record of.

Payroll is complicated. Rates change, overtime depends on the rules of your job, breaks are deducted, and times can be rounded. Small differences are easy to miss when the only record of your work lives in someone else’s system.

EarnSure doesn’t assume anyone made a mistake. It gives you clear numbers from your own records, so if something looks different, you know exactly what to ask about.

  1. Hours that slip through

A shift you meant to write down, or a clock-out you forgot. Without a record, it’s hard to know what’s missing.

  2. Overtime that’s hard to check

Weekly and daily thresholds, workweeks that don’t start on Monday, multipliers. It’s a lot to work out by hand.

  3. Breaks and rounding you can’t see

An automatic break deduction or a rounded punch changes your paid time by minutes that add up over a pay period.

  4. A paycheck that doesn’t look right

When the gross amount surprises you, you need to know which number is different before you can ask about it.

  5. No record of your own

Schedules and time clocks belong to your workplace. Your own timecard keeps your history with you, whatever job you’re in.

Features

From your first clock-in to payday.

Everything EarnSure does starts from the shifts you record and the pay rules you set for your job.

Work-hour tracking

Clock in with one tap, or add a shift later.

Start and stop a live shift on Home, or add a shift by hand when you forget. EarnSure keeps the exact times to the second, in the time zone you worked in.

  • Breaks you start and end, marked paid or unpaid
  • Overnight shifts counted on the day they started
  • Tips, bonuses and notes on any shift
  • Reminders if a shift runs long, on payday and to check your paycheck

Expected gross earnings

See what your hours add up to.

EarnSure turns your shifts into expected gross pay for each shift, week and pay period, using the rate in effect on the day you worked. Watch it count up live while you’re on the clock.

  • Weekly, every 2 weeks, twice a month or monthly pay schedules
  • Your next payday, and what this period has earned so far
  • Rate history: when your pay changes, earlier shifts keep their rate

Expected gross pay is before taxes and deductions. EarnSure doesn’t estimate take-home pay.

Overtime and pay rules

Overtime that matches your job.

Set the rules your job actually uses, so the estimate follows your payroll. Each job keeps its own overtime, rounding and break rules.

  • Weekly and daily overtime thresholds with your multiplier
  • Time rounding: exact, nearest 1, 5, 6, 10 or 15 minutes, or a custom rule
  • Automatic break rules, applied when you don’t log a break yourself
  • Weekend, holiday and night premiums Pro

With the United States as your region, new jobs start with overtime after 40 hours a week at time and a half. You can change it. EarnSure doesn’t decide which rules the law requires. Read how timecard rounding works, or try the overtime pay calculator.

Paycheck comparison Free

Know whether your paycheck matches your work.

Type in the gross pay from your paycheck. EarnSure compares it with its own estimate for the same job and pay period, and shows the difference, if there is one.

  • Add regular hours, overtime hours or tips from your payslip to compare them line by line
  • Likely causes with the arithmetic, like the overtime hours times their rate
  • Lines you leave empty aren’t compared, and nothing is filled in for you

EarnSure shows which numbers differ. It doesn’t decide who is right: your payroll team can explain your paycheck. See how to check your paycheck.

Work history and records

A record that keeps the original.

Browse every shift by week or pay period, and search your whole history. When you fix a forgotten punch, EarnSure saves the change as an edit, with your reason, and keeps the original times.

  • Edited shifts are marked, with the original clock times in their history
  • Rounding changes only the estimate, never your recorded times
  • Your full history stays available on Free

Multiple jobs and exports Pro

More than one job? Take your records with you.

On Free you track one active job at a time. Exports are created only when you choose, and go only where you share or save them.

How it works

Three steps, every pay period.

Setup asks for your rate, your pay schedule and your overtime, break and rounding rules. You can skip the rules and set them later.

  1. Record your shifts

Clock in and out as you work, or add shifts by hand. Log breaks, tips and notes as you go.

  2. See your expected gross pay

EarnSure applies your rate and your job’s rules to every shift, and adds up each week and pay period.

  3. Compare your paycheck

On payday, enter the numbers from your paycheck. EarnSure shows whether they match your records, and where they don’t.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

The things people ask most about overtime, paycheck comparison, privacy and EarnSure Pro.

More questions? Visit Support.

Does EarnSure connect to my employer or payroll?

No. EarnSure is your own timecard. It doesn’t need an employer account, doesn’t connect to payroll or time-clock systems, and never sends your timecard to your employer. You type in the numbers from your paycheck yourself.

How does EarnSure calculate overtime?

From the rules you set for each job: a weekly threshold, a daily threshold or both, and the multiplier. With the United States as your region, new jobs start with overtime after 40 hours a week at time and a half; in other regions, overtime is off until you choose a rule. Hours already counted as daily overtime don’t count again toward the weekly threshold.

EarnSure doesn’t decide which overtime rules the law requires for you, so use the rules from your agreement or payslip. It works out overtime for each job on its own, and doesn’t blend bonuses or premiums into a higher regular rate as some payrolls do.

How does the paycheck comparison work?

Enter the gross pay from your paycheck and, if you like, its regular hours, overtime hours and tips. EarnSure compares them with its estimate for the same job and pay period, shows which numbers differ and, where it can, how much of the difference each one may explain. It’s free, and it doesn’t decide who is right.

Does EarnSure calculate taxes or take-home pay?

No. EarnSure estimates gross pay: your hours, rates, overtime, premiums, tips and bonuses before taxes and deductions. Compare it with the gross amount on your paycheck, not the net amount you receive.

Do I need to scan or upload my paycheck?

No. You type the few numbers you want to compare. EarnSure doesn’t scan payslips or connect to your bank, and it never fills in a paycheck value for you.

Where are my records stored?

On your device and, when iCloud sync is on, in your private iCloud, so they’re available on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. There’s no EarnSure account and no EarnSure server that holds your hours or pay. Delete all data in the app removes everything from your device and your iCloud.

Can I track more than one job?

Yes, with EarnSure Pro. Each job keeps its own rates, overtime and break rules, rounding and pay schedule. On Free you have one active job at a time; archived jobs don’t count, and they stay readable.

Is EarnSure Pro a subscription?

No. EarnSure Pro is a one-time purchase through the App Store: you pay once and it doesn’t renew. The App Store shows the price in your currency. If Pro is ever no longer active, your records stay as they are.

My employer rounds time. Can EarnSure match that?

Yes. Choose the same rounding rule for the job, such as the nearest 15 minutes. Rounding changes only the estimate: EarnSure keeps your actual clock times and shows both your recorded time and the time used for payroll.

Which devices does EarnSure work on?

EarnSure is made for iPhone and needs iOS 17 or later. It also runs on iPad.

Is EarnSure legal or financial advice?

No. EarnSure estimates earnings from the information and rules you enter. It isn’t payroll software, tax advice or legal advice. If your paycheck looks different, your employer’s payroll team or a local labor office can tell you what’s correct.

Know what your hours add up to.

Keep your own record of every shift, and check every paycheck against it.
